United Methodist Women
Goldston United Methodist Women meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30.
Their focus is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. They support programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
The PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The yearly projects include the presentation of Bibles to the fourth graders in our church, sponsoring the burning of a candle in memory or in honor of a special, donations to a missions project in honor of newborn babies in the church, visitation to our shut-ins, providing Christian love and support to families in need in the community. They support the mission work of Meshach’s Carpenters who rebuild areas devasted by natural disasters. The women of the UMW also made the Crismon decorations for our sanctuary tree, and they help decorate the tree each Christmas.
Other projects include the purchase of furniture in the narthex and pew Bibles for the sanctuary, and spring cleaning of the fellowship hall and sanctuary.
The Goldston United Methodist Women is an active group that welcomes new members. You do not need to be a member of the church to join the UMW.
